My newest passion has been learning about needle lace. I have spent many hours reading and studying many types of lace and thinking of how the could be incorporated into my current work. I am rather pleased with the results.
Needle lace is exactly what the name implies, lace made using a needle and thread. I have really enjoyed the process of incorporating these stitches into the Freeform crochet pieces that I have been working on. Most needle laces that I have studied are made with variations of the first embroidery stitch I learned as a child, the buttonhole stitch. I was amazed to find that world wide, in many countries and on all the continents, this stitch has been used to create such fine lace in endless patterns and variations. Geometric, or floral patterns and endless inspiration. I am looking forward to sharing this and so much more with you all.
